For this painting, I used as reference material a photo taken by Warren Barrett, my husband's son. Warren's passion is photography, and he is especially good at taking photos of birds. The Ruby Crowned Kinglet is a gorgeous little bird, and the red crown changes size and shape depending upon what the bird is experiencing. It's an adorable little creature!
